The all-new 2012 Hyundai Azera sedan obtained the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick Award, along with the new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The Azera sedan is one of the top models developed by the automaker with several new features included.
Powered by a Lambda II 3.3 liter Gasoline Direct Injection engine that produces 293-hp, the 2012 Hyundai Azera is combined with a 6-speed automatic with Shiftronic. The average fuel economy for the 2012 Azera is 20/29 mpg (city/highway) and 23 combined. Pricing details have been revealed and it starts at $32,000.
“The Azera was previously tested for front and side crashworthiness. It meets the criteria for the award by earning good ratings in a recent rear impact test assessing whiplash protection and a roof strength test to measure occupant protection in rollover crashes,” said the IIHS in a statement.
