On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. Written by: Robert M. Gates
Length: 25 hrs and 42 mins
Summary: From the former secretary of defense, a strikingly candid, vivid account of serving Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. When Robert M. Gates received a call from the White House, he thought he'd long left Washington politics behind: After working for six presidents in both the CIA and the National Security Council, he was happily serving as president of Texas A&M University. But when he was asked to help a nation mired in two wars and to aid the troops doing the fighting, he answered what he felt was the call of duty.

Sycamore Row
Written by: John Grisham
Length: 20 hrs and 50 mins
Summary: Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

Learn how to eat healthy at Fast Foods with our latest blog post!

Burger King
Did you know that Burger King had a Veggie Burger (7 grams, without cheese or mayo, and 20 grams with them)? It’s something to give a try if you’re on the go and you can’t go to a decent sit-down restaurant.

Boston Market
Make sure you stay away from the additive-filled dishes that are claimed to be family-style. We highly suggest getting something like a regular turkey dinner with sides of garlic dill potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables is about 360 calories and 10 grams of fat. Five grams of fiber and 42 grams of protein rounds out this meal.

Domino’s Pizza
Obviously one should not eat an entire Pizza unfortunately, that would be a sweet way to eat healthy. The best option you have there, is to have a slice (or two) of a Thin Crust Pizza with Marinara and Vegetables.

McDonald’s
If you’re there for breakfast, try the Egg White Delight McMuffin with white cheddar (250 calories, 7 grams fat, and 18 grams protein.)

Starbucks Coffee
We all know we usually go in there for a caffeine fix, but you can never rule out the option for a healthy spinach and cheese wrap (290 calories, 10 grams of fat, 19 grams of protein, and 6 grams of fiber.)

How to safely drive in severe winter weather!

Rule #1: Breathe properly, and remain calm. Panic will cause you to make irrational movements and make poor decisions. All you need to do is focus on the road.

Rule #2: Drive only as fast as your abilities let you. Also, keep in mind your car has limited capabilities for the road conditions. If you haven’t driven on snow or ice in a while, slow down. If your tires are not in the best shape, slow down. If your car has a low ride height, it won’t do well with snow stacking up on the front. Again, just slow down.

Rule #3: Be Gentle

Each movement on the wheel needs to be controlled and gentle. Hard acceleration, hard braking, and sharp curves will decrease traction. Maintain a consistent speed, open up the distance between you and the car ahead, and be easy on the brakes. Steer gently, and remember that inertia will be a factor.

Rule #4: Use your lights and signals

Make sure you drive with your nighttime lights on, being seen is just as important as seeing others. Don’t forget that if it is foggy, your car might be equipped with fog lights which are a bit brighter and placed lower to help light up the road under the fog. Also, use your signals when making a lane change. We recommend using 5 blinks when

Rule #5: Pay attention to the water coming off of other vehicles’ tires. This will help you understand the surface you’re driving on. If you see a lot of spray, obviously the road is very wet. If there’s a lot of spray, the roads are wet. If there’s less spray and the road's wet, take extra caution because this means the roadway is starting to freeze. If the road looks wet with little or no spray, you’re on black ice. Be extremely cautious.

Rule #6: Also pay attention to the truckers, if you see them stop or all get off the road, there is probably a good reason for that. Their driving expertise is usually a good indicator of what you should do.

Rule#7: A very important point which most people wouldn’t consider is this one. Do not stop! If you stop in the middle of the road because you’re scared of not seeing well enough well chances are someone behind you will keep going. It is much safer to slow down a comfortable speed and stay on the right (slow) side of the roadway.

We hope everyone is safe out there! Have a good winter fellow drivers!

Hyundai Named Most Reliable Manufacturer In CarMD's Annual Vehicle Health Index Report

Hyundai beat out every competitor to earn the distinction of “Most Reliable Manufacturer” in the 2013 CarMD® Vehicle Health Index™ Manufacturer & Vehicle Reliability Ranking. Released today, the annual report provides a ranking of manufacturers and vehicles with the lowest combined “check engine” repair incidents and costs. The Index ranks the top 10 manufacturers, top 100 vehicles overall, top vehicles by category and the most common repairs by make. After two consecutive years of finishing second Hyundai overtook Toyota and drove to the top of the list with its low repair frequency.

“The 2013 CarMD Vehicle Health Index Manufacturer and Vehicle Reliability Ranking looked at data that applies to more than 119 million vehicles, so to earn this ranking is no small feat,” said Leon C. Chen, CEO, CarMD.com Corporation. “We commend Hyundai for its commitment to quality and to its efforts to minimize vehicle operating costs.”

Hyundai’s 2013 Index rating was .80 with an average repair cost of $312.67, the lowest Index rating of all parent manufactures studied and the second lowest overall repair cost. This year’s Index is based on more than 151,000 specific repairs performed on model year 2003 to 2013 vehicles from Oct. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2013. The Index is determined by the manufacturers whose vehicles had the fewest percentage of CarMD repair incidents combined with the lowest cost per repair, per number of registered vehicles on the road. For more information on CarMD including the complete index, visit http://corp.carmd.com.

“Hyundai strives to provide our customers with a worry-free car ownership experience by offering a lineup of vehicles that deliver on both quality and reliability, backed by the most competitive protection program in the business,” said Erwin Raphael, director, Engineering and Quality, Hyundai Motor America. “Earning the first place title in CarMD’s Vehicle Health Index Report proves that our recipe for combining high value vehicles with long-term vehicle protection is a success.”

In addition to vehicle reliability, Hyundai’s Assurance program offers vehicle owners a comprehensive suite of car care and protection services including a 5-year/60,000-mile fully transferable new vehicle limited warranty and a 10-year/100,000 powertrain limited warranty. Additionally, Hyundai’s Assurance Connected Care offers Blue Link equipped models with free automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, monthly vehicle diagnostics reports and maintenance alerts. These programs under the Hyundai Assurance umbrella provide customers with peace of mind long after they drive off the dealership lot.
