Hyundai Partners With Powertrain Guru Bisimoto To Create 1000 Horsepower SEMA Show Genesis Coupe

Hyundai is again partnering with the engine wizards of Bisimoto Engineering to create a 1,000 horsepower Genesis Coupe for the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Bisimoto Engineering is known for extracting awesome, reliable power out of production-grade, everyday powerplants, and the Bisimoto 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is no exception, with 1,000 horsepower generated from a turbocharged Hyundai-factory-based 3.8-liter V6 engine. The Bisimoto powertrain uses newly-designed internal parts, using the naturally-aspirated Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec engine as its core building block. The Bisimoto concept is designed for the reliability of a street car but with the outrageous power of a no-holds-barred racer.

“The key to producing reliable, high-horsepower engines goes well beyond the design, engineering and fabrication of performance parts. The core powerplant must be strong enough to withstand advanced modifications. The Genesis Coupe 3.8-liter Lambda engine is a thoroughly robust powerplant, and Bisimoto Engineering is excited to develop it to its full potential for the rigors of competitive motorsport,” said Bisi Ezerioha, owner of Bisimoto Engineering.

Complementing the extensive work underhood, Bisimoto created a custom Electric Blue paint, Denmatic design graphics package, ARK hood and Carbon Fiber decklid. From the rear view, a Burns stainless exhaust and Bisimoto rear badge round out the visual impact.

Hyundai Hope On Wheels, Congressional Leaders, and Local Children's Hospitals Honor National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – a time to bring awareness to childhood cancer and recognize the young lives impacted by the disease. While pediatric cancer is relatively rare and research has created cure rates upwards of 80%, pediatric cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease for children in the United States. There are 15,000 new cases diagnosed each year and one in five of these children will not survive the disease. Hyundai Hope On Wheels® is a 501(c)(3) committed to helping kids fight cancer by providing funding for research and treatment, and through increasing awareness for the disease. Since its inception in 1998, Hope On Wheels has provided over $72.6 million in life saving grants.

This month, Hope On Wheels will donate $10.25 million to forty-one (41) children’s hospitals and institutions across the United States in support of continued medical research and programs that improve quality of life for children with cancer. Hyundai will be joined by members of the Congressional Childhood Cancer Caucus, policymakers, Hyundai executives and dealers, practitioners and patients as it announces the accomplishments of the Hope On Wheels program. Special recognition will also be given to the local Washington, D.C. area hospitals that have received Hope Grants; including Children’s National Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center.
